Nancy Correia

Nancy Correia is an illustrator working with various analogue mediums to explore narratives within the Indian diaspora and concepts of identity in the wider world. Her practice focuses on both personal and collective identity, examining how cultural and social labels shape experiences of belonging when existence feels paradoxical. Through layered textures, detailed linework, and traditional techniques, Correia embraces the imperfections and tactility of analogue processes to reflect identity's fragmented, evolving nature, exploring what makes a person whole. As she navigates her own experience as a person of colour in the West, she investigates how one transcends liminality to inhabit third spaces, using illustration on different surfaces from paper to ceramics as a means to bridge cultural memory and personal storytelling.
